I purchased Total War: ROME REMASTERED and cannot find the ROME: Total War Collection in the launcher. Here is the link to download the preferences folder for your clean installation. The original ROME: Total War will still be in your Steam library, and if you don’t own it, it will be become available to you as part of your Total War: ROME REMASTERED purchase. While I cannot seem to find a way to allow Rome to load itself that first time and generate the needed files, dropping those files in place from a backup works like a charm. Upgrading your OS, be it 7, 8, or 8.1, and Rome will still have no problems.ĬLEAN INSTALL of Rome will not generate the contents of the Preferences Folder and all you will get upon trying to load is your monitor flashing on and off and not responding until Rome crashes.

Just so you know, it took me a couple of weeks of deliberately trying to make Rome have a problem with Windows 10 before I found the problem.
